The Shield Rises: Wow, what an exciting time for Crescent Shield. We've been signed by Cruz Del Sur Records and the CD, entitled The Last of My Kind, is well on its way to production. The cover art is nearly done (you can take a sneak peek at it here, as well as download a preview of the title track) and I'm hearing something about late October. Keep an eyeball on the Crescent Shield website for further details!
Lobsterfest: Mmmmm Lobster.... and lots of it too! Don't miss Whole Lotta Rosies at the Lobsterfest in San Pedro, CA. Our set time is 130pm.
An Arsenal of Megadeth: Hangar 18 is back! Pix from the latest Hangar 18 show are now available online!
More Up the Irons and the Big Bad Bass: I've officially joined up with my former Hangar 18 shredmeister Michael "Mikey Friedman" Johnson in Powerslave, an Arizona-based tribute to Iron Maiden. Look for my first gig with Powerslave on Friday May 26th at Bulldogz in Phoenix, AZ. And no, I haven't left California -- it's a happy commute for a little bit of Maiden luv!
For more information on Powerslave, check out the Powerslave website!
Back in Portland : Also, it appears that the Rosies have been invited back to the Portalnd Bike Fest in Portland, OR. Motorcycles and AC/DC go together like the horse and carriage. We had such a great time last year, that it's an honor to be invited back! More info on the show can be found on the Rosies website. Please note the new URL: http://www.therosies.com
Bearers of the Shield: YES! The CD is done and has gone shopping! Wheee! Hopefully we'll get some label bites so that the new Crescent Shield CD can wind up in a CD player near you. And you can still hear some of the tracks on the Crescent Shield MySpace page (final mixes).
Up the Irons and bangin' da big bad bass on 2/11 : I'll be back in my role as Steve Heiress for one night only, Febbruary 11, 2006 at Paladino's in Tarzana, filling in with LA's tribute to Classic Iron Maiden, Aces High. Yep, it's been a while since i've donned the striped spandex pants, but it'll be a great night of fun and Iron Maiden, plus the world-famous Atomic Punks (tribute to early Van Halen. Check the Aces High website or Moshking.com for more info!
Crescent Shield Update: Yes, things are finally happening with the Shield! Check our The Crescent Shield MySpace site for some rough mixes of some of the tracks. Finally! I'm still in the middle of laying down the bass parts, but add us to your MySpace friends and keep checking back for more tunes as they happen!
Where Have I Been??! : Okay, Melz Homepage has been looking a little neglected lately. I confess I've been a little out of touch with updating. But, as Melz Homepage celebrates 10 years, I've sort of vowed to myself to make sure the page gets the luv it deserves! I can't believe I've been wasting bandwidth for 10 years!! Time flies when you're having fun.
But because i've been absent from updating this page doesn't mean i've been anywhere near idle. In fact, if I had to look at the year 2005 in review, I marvel that I actually found any time to sleep! I've played shows in California, Oregon, Utah, and South Dakota, plus Germany and South Korea, jumped on the small screen VJ'ing for The Metal Scene TV show, traveled for fun and leisure, and still somehow managed to spend some time with the cats! Maybe I'll find some time to update the photo archives with my adventures. And here it is, 2006.
