Knott's Scary Farm 2004
October 1, 2004

Halloween Season is once again upon us. The sun drops down into the horizon earlier and earlier, and the air slowly turns brisk and cold. I read an article in the Los Angeles Times that stated that the popularity of Halloween has grown exponentially, and that the sales numbers for Halloween swag are rivalling that of commercial heavy-weight Christmas. There is something appealing in the macabre, delightful in the devilish, satisfying in the spooky. This is why events like Knott's Scary Farm draw in record numbers of marauders.

Because last year's Knott's Scary was wayyyyyyy too crowded, this year we decided to make a trip at the beginning of Halloween season -- the beginning of October. We were happy to find the place, while insanely crowded, was nowhere near as choked with humanity as it will no doubt be as All Hallow's Eve draws nigh.

Of course, we had to hit the pre-scare buffet, late because of work. Like last year, we were one of the last parties to leave the pre-scare dinner. It was a bit lonely without even monsters there. :(

Just the ghouls at the Pre-Scare entrance to the 'farm: me, Carol Anderson, and someone who needs to work on his ghoulish figure.

Like last year, our number was limited, mostly because the rest of our friends had decided to hit Knott's the following day. We were four strong, and had a great time! Here, me, Denis Recendez, and some long-haired dude with a skullet give up horns.

The Moshking ran into someone he knew; how he recognized her is beyond me.

Carol recreates the famous funnel cake incident. Poop.

The biggest highlight of the trip for me was not actually part of the Halloween themed bit at all. Rather, Xcelerator, the mini-version of Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster, still rocked my world. Here, Chris Trent, Carol, and Denis lurk beneath the terrifying, behemoth coaster.

In line for the Killer Clowns from Outer Space in 3D maze -- doncha luv our nerdy 3D glasses (thanks Chris!). You know, I didn't even notice the killer clown behind us until after i looked at the pictures.

After challenging eachother to a game or two of the squirter race thingie, Carol, Chris, and I all came out winners. I happen to think the race was a little rigged...

Thanks to Carol, Denis, n Chris for a great night of wickedness at the Halloween Haunt! :)
