After spending a few days running around Albuquerque like
a bunch of tourists, my mother, nephew Jared, and I hopped on I-40
and headed west. We stopped in Flagstaff, AZ for the night, and then
headed up toward the Grand Canyon.
On our way up to the Canyon, we found a great tourist shop and took
a bunch of pictures!

My nephew stands in front of one of the great props
in front of the Double Eagle trading post, which boasted animal parts
and native american crafts. Part of my reason for stopping here was
to see if I could find some raccoon tails for my bass. My cats chewed
up one of the ones I had, and I have a new bass -- must have a tail
for each bass, soooooo....
As you can see, I was very successful on my quest for
raccoon tails! I also found the "Skull Shack" filled with
skulls of cows, goats, deer, etc. When I was little, my cousin Jude
had a bull's skull in his room with red lights for the eyes -- I was
terrified of it as a kid, but when I grew up, I wanted one too. So,
although I already had a bull's skull with red lights for eyes in my
house, it was fun to look at the other skulls. Yes, I use dead animals
in all my decorating Eat beef, wear leather, dammitt!!

While I was off checking out the dead animals, my mom
was getting into trouble of her own. Here, she finds a new friend,
who, unfortunately, just sat there like a wooden indian...

Soon it was time to hook up the horses and hop in the
coach -- the Grand Canyon awaited!!
