Melz Big Three-Oh Birthday Bash
July 20, 2002
Birthdays come but once a year
(aren't you glad you're not a birthday), but the turn of the decades
comes... well, once every decade. And so, to celebrate
three decades of life, I took over the Sardinas homestead and threw a big bash.
The party also served as a last hurrah/going away/I'm gonna miss you
all fiesta,
since I'd be departing to Finland five weeks later.

Behold! The jumpy thingie!! A woman's home is her castle.
Jump For Fun planted this bad boy in my side yard at 9am, although the
party didn't start until about 5pm. So, I spent most of the day vollying
between preparing for the party and jumping in the jumpy thingie. Did
I mention I LOVE these things???
It's my party and I'll jump if I want to / jump if I
want to... You would jump too if it happened to you...
Me n my cousin Eliseo in the jumpy thingie.

For those who prefer tamer entertainment, Ig Beach is
a great place to catch some sun, relax by the fountain, and consume alcoholic
beverages from grossly flourescent cups. Glenn, Danika, and Matt enjoy
each other's company on the soft sands.

Ana answers that age old question "Where's the Beef?" as
she begins her preparations of her famous Fuck You Burgers(TM)

MetalMom looks on with a smile as Chef Moshking grills
her delicious marinated chicken tenderloins. I kept asking Denis if there
was anything he needed any help or anything. "You can GIVE ME SPACE!!" he
shouted in return. Regardless of the chefking's customer service skills,
the food turned out absolutely divine! Dave professes his love to Horacio behind Irma's back. Kirk, Mike, and Heather share a conversation and smiles. Carol and Denis pause from watching/laughing at a copy
of Melz Sinergy audition DVD to take this picture. Aren't they CUUUTTTEEEE??? Two Sisneroses: My cousin Eliseo drove up from San
Diego to attend the party. It was really great to see him, especially
since he'd been overseas for many months. Most of my family are in
New Mexico, so its a nice feeling to have one of the Sisneros clan
so close! After watching some vintage Raven Mad videos, Danika
came up with a way to tame the fro on the Fro, although I don't think
she should have pulled the braid so tight... After spending most of the party locked in the bathtub,
Molly came out to say hi to Mike, Ana, me, Kirk, and Horacio and Irma.
Normally a good natured and friendly cat, Molly was pretty terrifiedby
all the humans who had dared to invade her space. Dave and RJ arrived late due to rehearsal. Here Dave
and Glenn talk metal over a brewski. After an odyssey of car troubles and miniature golf,
Jenny and Bill arrived with a birthday cake. 30 candles, turning the patio as light as day. Between
Jenny, Carol, and, I, we managed to find 30 (because most candle packages
come in packs of 24). I managed to extinguish the lot of them in a
single breath, meaning my wish would come true. Too late, because my
wish had already come true -- there is no greater birthday wish than
to be surrounded by your nearest and dearest friends. THANK YOU to
everyone who came or sent their birthday greetings!
